Cyta participates in the Ministry of Transport, Communications & Works scheme for subsidizing Superfast Internet

Cyta welcomes the decision by the Department of Electronic Communications (D.E.C.) at the Ministry of Transport, Communications & Works and participates in the Scheme to subsidize natural persons wishing to have Superfast Broadband at speeds of 100Mbps and above.

Acknowledging its role, as a key stakeholder in the digital transformation of Cypriot society and the economy, Cyta has invested in upgrading its national telecommunications infrastructures in order to ensure the islandwide availability of fast speeds so as to guarantee that the country meets the European Union’s 2020 Digital Agenda broadband access goals. Targeted actions such as this specific one, are expected to act as incentives for the increased demand for fast speed connections, which is a prerequisite for the mass adoption of online services and transactions in the immediate future.

Cyta is participating in the Department of Electronic Communications’ Superfast Internet Subsidy Scheme with the following service packages:

  • Broadband Access + Internet Home100Mbps
  • Broadband Access + Internet Home160Mbps
  • Broadband Access + Internet Home300Mbps

The monthly subsidy by the D.E.C. applies to natural persons subscribing to Internet Business products providing speeds of 100Mbps, 200Mbps, 400Mbps and 1Gbps.

The subsidy is for new or upgraded connections of 100Mbps and above and amounts to 30% of the monthly subscription charge for the selected package. The maximum amount is €30 per month for a period of 12 months.

Applications will be accepted until 31 October 2019 and the subsidy is available to a limited number of customers on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.
